Elie Brakhya

Elie Brakhya has over three decades of extensive experience covering global news events and conflicts from active war zones. In his 19 years with Al Jazeera Media Network, he has worked with international correspondents and anchors to gather news and cover a broad range of significant events, including during the Russia/Ukraine conflict from 2022 to 2023, when he was part of the team that uncovered and broke the news of mass graves in Bucha and Kharkiv. 

Brakhya has interviewed a range of figures such as Carlos Ghosn, Omar Bashir, and Masoud Barzani. He has also contributed to the development of journalism by designing and delivering training workshops for Iraqi journalists at the Lebanese American University of Beirut, focused on storytelling through filming and editing. A widely respected figure in the industry, he has been deployed to film and edit cultural stories in diverse contexts and countries including Spain, Iran, and Azerbaijan.
