Steven Brill

Journalist Steven Brill is the co-founder and co-CEO of NewsGuard, which counters misinformation online by rating the reliability and credibility of news and information websites, television programmes, and podcasts. NewsGuard For AI provides data to train generative AI models to avoid spreading misinformation. 

Brill is the founder of Court TV, The American Lawyer magazine, Brill’s Content magazine, the Clear registered-traveller programme, and the Yale Journalism Initiative at Yale College. He also co-founded Press+, a service that created a business model for over 500 newspapers and magazines to launch paid content initiatives. 

In 2014 he won a National Magazine Award for Bitter Pill: Why Medical Bills Are Killing Us, a TIME special report that also inspired his 2015 bestseller, America’s Bitter Pill: Money, Politics, Backroom Deals, and the Fight to Fix Our Broken Healthcare System. He is the author of the 2018 bestseller Tailspin: The People and Forces Behind America’s Fifty-Year Fall – and Those Fighting to Reverse It. His new book, The Death of Truth, will be published this year.
