Arwa Damon
Journalist and Humanitarian
Arwa Damon is a Syrian-American journalist and humanitarian with 20 years of experience working in warzones. She spent 17 years at CNN as a senior correspondent, establishing herself as the “human story” reporter. She recently completed her first documentary, Seize the Summit, which tells the story of four young adult survivors of war as they come together to summit Mount Kilimanjaro.
In 2015 she founded the International Network for Aid, Relief and Assistance charity. It provides long-term medical and mental health care to children impacted by manmade and natural disasters who are unable to reach the treatments they need. She has received numerous accolades, including Emmys and a Peabody award.
