Ibrahim Nash’at

Ibrahim Nash’at is a Directors Guild of America-nominated documentary filmmaker. His debut feature, Hollywoodgate, was shortlisted for the Academy Awards, won numerous international awards, and premiered at Venice and Telluride. He also served as cinematographer and co-producer, capturing rare access inside Afghanistan post-Taliban takeover.

Born in Egypt and currently based in Berlin, before transitioning fully to filmmaking, he followed a career in journalism, working with Deutsche Welle, Al Jazeera, Business Insider, and Voice of America across various formats. He holds a Masters degree in documentary filmmaking from MetFilm School and previously co-edited Under the Sky of Damascus, which premiered at the Berlinale Panorama and won the Golden Alexander at the Thessaloniki film festival.
