Katie Razzall
Culture and Media Editor, BBC News
Award-winning, BAFTA-nominated journalist Katie Razzall is culture and media editor at BBC News. She co-presents Radio 4’s The Media Show and is a regular host of BBC Newsnight.
In her current role she has interviewed some of the biggest names in culture, media, and tech. She also investigated how a Danish antiquities dealer uncovered the theft of thousands of objects from one of the world’s most renowned museums – and the efforts to stonewall him – for the hit podcast Thief at the British Museum.
Razzall doesn’t shy away from controversial subjects: her podcast Anatomy of a Cancellation delved into cancel culture and the culture war that blew up around an Orwell Prize-winning book. Her journalism as UK Newsnight editor led to a change in the law after a series about Britain’s unregistered children’s homes. She also investigated the Grenfell Tower fire and championed the residents’ fight for justice. She charted the spread of Covid-19 through a chain of care homes with access to internal data, and continues to shine a light on some of Britain’s most important questions.
