Gillian Tett

Gillian Tett is provost of King’s College, Cambridge, and also writes a weekly op-ed column for The Financial Times on global finance and business. She was awarded an OBE for services to economic journalism in 2024. She is a member of the FT’s editorial board, having previously been chairman of the US editorial board and America editor-at-large. 

An anthropologist by training, she is the author of Anthro-Vision: A New Way to See in Business and Life and The New York Times bestseller Fool’s Gold: How Unrestrained Greed Corrupted a Dream, Shattered Global Markets and Unleashed a Catastrophe

Tett has received several awards in recognition of her work, including Columnist of the Year, Journalist of the Year, and Financial Journalist of the Year at the British Press Awards; the British Academy President’s Medal; and the American Anthropological Association President’s Medal.
