Gillian Tett

Gillian Tett is provost of King’s College, Cambridge, and also writes a weekly op-ed column for The Financial Times on global finance and business. She was awarded an OBE for services to economic journalism in 2024. She is a member of the FT’s editorial board, having previously been chairman of the US editorial board and America editor-at-large.
An anthropologist by training, she is the author of Anthro-Vision: A New Way to See in Business and Life and The New York Times bestseller Fool’s Gold: How Unrestrained Greed Corrupted a Dream, Shattered Global Markets and Unleashed a Catastrophe.
Tett has received several awards in recognition of her work, including Columnist of the Year, Journalist of the Year, and Financial Journalist of the Year at the British Press Awards; the British Academy President’s Medal; and the American Anthropological Association President’s Medal.
