Juan Ravell

Juan Ravell is a Venezuelan audio producer and documentary director, and the co-founder of the popular El Chigüire Bipolar political satire website. In 2018, he began his career as an investigative journalist, collaborating with reporters from Armando.info, IDL Reporteros, Columbia Journalism School, and Centro Latinoamericano de Periodismo de Investigación.

Ravell directed the 2024 Armando.info/PBS Frontline documentary A Dangerous Assignment: Uncovering Corruption in Maduro’s Venezuela, which investigates a corruption scheme that stretches from Venezuela to the US and highlights the work of investigative journalist Roberto Deniz.

As an audio producer, Ravell has also spearheaded projects for Spotify Studios Latin America, including Un Poco de Contexto, an in-depth news analysis show.
