Krishnan Guru-Murthy

British journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy has presented Channel 4 News for 25 years and became the main anchor based in London in 2022, shortly after winning Network Presenter of the Year at the Royal Television Society Journalism Awards. He has covered major events including the Omagh bombing, the 9/11 terror attacks, the Mumbai attacks, and special war reports from Syria, Yemen, and Gaza, as well as five British general elections. He presents the foreign affairs series Unreported World and the podcast Ways To Change The World.
Guru-Murthy started in journalism presenting the BBC2 discussion programme Open to Question at the age of 18, before reading philosophy, politics and economics at Hertford College, Oxford. He went on to present the children’s programme Newsround and was a reporter on Newsnight before joining the launch of the BBC News channel. He has also presented radio for LBC and BBC Radio 5 Live.
