Rosa Furneaux
2024 Sir Harry Evans Global Fellow
As the Sir Harry Evans Fellow in Investigative Journalism, Rosa Furneaux is a member of Durham University’s Institute of Advanced Study. She currently reports with the Reuters enterprise team in London.
Previously, she reported on global health at the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, with particular focus on access to healthcare. Among other honours, she received the Amnesty International Award for New Journalist for her coverage of Covid-19 vaccine inequity.
Her work has been published in national and international outlets including The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent, The San Francisco Chronicle, Politico, Vice, Stat News, Mother Jones, Pacific Standard, Mail & Guardian, Nation, Il Fatto Quotidiano, El País, Ojo Público, and the Thomson Reuters wire.
Her investigations have been recognised with awards from organisations including the Foreign Press Association, Amnesty International, the Association of British Science Writers, the Medical Journalists’ Association, and One World Media. She is a senior fellow with the John Schofield Trust, where she mentors early-career journalists from disadvantaged backgrounds, and an alumna of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network, convened by the Reuters Institute at Oxford University.
